Siliguri Taxation Bar Association

Siliguri Taxation Bar Association came into existence in the year 1970-71 under the leadership of Late Nirmal Kumar Maitra as its founder President and Late Bikash Moulik as its Founder Secretary. Both of them are no more with us but our deep sense of gratitude to them. Today, this Association can claim to be the largest Association of Tax professionals in North Bengal having membership strength of 450 plus members and consisting of Advocates, Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants and Tax Practitioners.

Objects of the Association

The object of the Association is to promote the general well-being of the members and instill in them a spirit of more effective to the tax payers. With this object in view, the Association shall Endeavour.

Dear Learned Members,

I, am deeply honored to have been entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the President of the Siliguri Taxation Bar Association. I express my sincere gratitude to all members for their trust and confidence in me.

I also place on record my heartfelt appreciation for our Past Presidents, whose vision, leadership, and dedicated efforts have laid a strong foundation for the growth and success of our Association.

As we begin this new tenure, I believe that our true strength lies in unity, collaboration, and collective participation. Let us work together to further enhance professional excellence, uphold the highest standards of practice, and contribute meaningfully to our fraternity. With shared commitment and active involvement, I am confident that we can take our Association to even greater heights.

I also invite all members to actively contribute articles of professional interest for our e-newsletter, which serves as an important platform for knowledge sharing and engagement.

I look forward to the continued support and cooperation of all members as we move ahead together in this journey.

SECRETARY MESSAGE

I am truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Secretary of the Siliguri Taxation Bar Association. I sincerely thank all members for placing their trust and confidence in me. I assure you of my best efforts in upholding the values and legacy of our esteemed Association.

I am committed to carrying forward the rich traditions set by our seniors and to further strengthening the academic and professional activities of our members. Our focus will be on creating a comprehensive platform for knowledge sharing, learning, and overall professional development.

I extend my appreciation to the Editorial Team for their commendable initiative in bringing out the monthly newsletter, which serves as a valuable medium for sharing insights and enhancing engagement among members. I encourage all members to actively contribute and make this platform even more enriching.

With the guidance of our senior members and under the leadership of our President, we aim to deliver meaningful value and continued growth for the Association. Our dedicated Executive Committee is constantly working towards this vision, and your support remains our greatest motivation.

4. Land Committee body to be discussed and formed for the purpose of land.
5. Discussion on BOX Cricket match and report to be submitted before the EC.
6. Discussion on Library Improvement & Software.
7. Discussion on Foreign Educational Tour.
8. Discussion on Seminar by the In-house Speakers in the month of Jan’24.
9. Discussion on Mega Seminar in the month of February’2024 (Post Budget)

Notice is given to all members of the Association that the First General Meeting for the Term 23-24 is scheduled to be held on 04th November, 2023 (Saturday) at 4:00 P.M. at Hotel Dolly Inn, Bidhan Road, Siliguri to consider the following agenda:
1. Welcome Address by the President.
2. Confirmation and approved of the minutes of the last AGM.
3. Report of the Secretary on the working of the Association.
4. Financial Report of the Association to be placed by the Treasurer.
5. Report of the Chairman of the different sub-committees.
6. New Members felicitation.
7. Miscellaneous, if any, with the permission of the chair.
8. Vote of thanks.
All members are requested to please attend the General Meeting and the meeting will be followed by high tea.
